The Majors division is for boys (and girls if they choose baseball) that are League Age 9 through 12. This is the division most people associate with Little League Baseball because it is this division that plays the Little League World Series every August in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. In the Spring season, all players in the Majors division are drafted onto teams. By using the draft system, we reduce the opportunity for teams to be “stacked” with select players. Once a player is drafted onto a specific team, they will remain with that team in subsequent Spring seasons. All new players to CLL at the Majors division age need to attend a try-out session in January. We will keep score and standings for the Majors division in the Spring. (For our Fall seasons, the CLL board of directors will divide players into teams with the objective of making fair, competitive teams. CLL attempts to follow Little League Baseball recommendation that kids should experience different coaches during their little league career, and coaches should have the opportunity to teach and mentor different players.)
NOTE: For the Fall 2007 and Spring 2008 seasons, a boy’s age on APRIL 30, 2008 and a girl’s age on DECEMBER 31, 2007 will determine their “League Age”.
